This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you visit www.urbanoverstock.com or use the Urban Overstock mobile application (collectively, the “Services”), how we use that information, and the choices you have. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Contact and shipping details: your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, and phone number. Phone is optional and only requested during checkout for shipping notifications.
- Payment information: handled by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not see, store, or transmit your full credit card number, security code (CVV), or other full payment details. Stripe returns a transaction reference; we keep that reference, your billing name, and the last four digits of your card to support refunds and customer service.
- Account information: if and when customer accounts become available, your account email and any preferences you set.
- Communications: messages you send to support@urbanoverstock.com and any feedback you share through the Services.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browsing: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, pages viewed, referring URL, the date and time of your visit, and a custom user-agent identifier when you visit through the Urban Overstock iOS app.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (cookies and identifiers measuring traffic, sources, and aggregate behavior) and Microsoft Clarity (anonymized session recordings and heatmaps showing how visitors interact with the site).
- Local storage: your cart contents (stored in your browser under the key
urban-cart), your rewards balance and history (uo_rewards_points), and a flag indicating whether you have completed an order (uo_has_ordered). This data stays on your device unless you sign in or check out.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process orders, payments, and shipments and provide post-purchase support.
- Send transactional communications (order confirmations, shipping updates, delivery confirmations).
- Send marketing emails about new arrivals, restocks, and promotions when you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email.
- Operate, analyze, and improve the Services.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- Comply with applicable laws and respond to legal requests.
3. Third Parties We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information to comply with a legal obligation (subpoena, court order, valid legal process), to enforce our Terms of Use, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Urban Overstock, our customers, or others.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in (when customer accounts are available).
- Remember your cart and rewards balance across visits via browser
localStorage. - Measure traffic and aggregate behavior (Google Analytics).
- Record anonymized sessions and heatmaps to improve usability (Microsoft Clarity).
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the Services may not function correctly without them.
5. Your Privacy Rights
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect about you, where it came from, and with whom we share it.
- Delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to legal-retention exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
- Opt out of sale or sharing. Urban Overstock does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Non-discrimination: we will not penalize you for exercising any of these rights.
Other US state residents
Residents of Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA), Texas (TDPSA), and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights to access, delete, correct, and opt out of certain data processing. Contact us at the email below to exercise any of these rights.
European Union residents
Urban Overstock currently ships only to the United States and does not target EU residents. If you reach the Services from the EU, GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority) apply to any data we collect. Contact us to exercise these rights. When we expand to international shipping, this section will be updated.
Exercising your rights
Email support@urbanoverstock.com with the subject “Privacy Request” and describe what you’d like us to do. We may need to verify your identity (typically by confirming your order email matches an account in our system) before processing the request. We will respond within thirty (30) days.
6. Data Retention
- Order records: retained for seven (7) years from the date of purchase, for tax, accounting, and legal compliance.
- Marketing email lists: retained until you unsubscribe, plus thirty (30) days to honor opt-out across email service providers.
- Analytics data: per Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity default retention policies (typically 26 months and 13 months respectively).
- Customer service correspondence: retained for two (2) years.
- Cart and rewards data in your browser: stays on your device until you clear browser storage.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please email support@urbanoverstock.com.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information:
- All traffic to and from the Services is encrypted in transit with HTTPS (TLS).
- Payment information is handled exclusively by Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1 certified processor. We never see or store full card details.
- Access to our administrative systems is restricted to authorized personnel and protected by passwords and access logs.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is one hundred percent (100%) secure. If we ever experience a data security incident that affects your information, we will notify you and applicable regulators as required by law.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. If we make a material change that affects how we use your information, we will notify you by email (if we have your email on file) or by a prominent notice on the Services before the change takes effect.
